Modular Elevators

Modular Elevators

No matter the reason for elevator installation (ADA compliance, change in building use, addition of second-story), prefab modular elevators can save time and greatly reduce costs to our clients.

While prefab modular elevators  is not a new concept, it has not seen wide adoption until recently. A fast tracked construction schedule can lead to a variety of problems, including reductions in work quality, unbudgeted overtime, and missed deadlines. Fortunately, there is a way to accelerate an elevator installation time line without sacrificing quality or breaking your budget. Prefab modular elevators is our solution for you.

When properly implemented, prefab modular elevators can reduce installation labor costs while reducing congestion at the construction site and allowing for more efficient component assembly. The use of prefab modular elevators creates parallel manufacturing processes that greatly reduce site impact. While the building is being constructed, the elevator car is being built and installed in its own hoist way under factory conditions. Then,  modular elevators are delivered to your site as a single or multi piece unit that can be immediately set in place, therefore reducing, or completely eliminating, on-site challenges such as site congestion and weather-related delays.

Prefabrication offers many benefits in comparison to traditional stick-build installations. Studies of prefabrication use in recent construction projects have identified improvements in a variety of areas:

  • Faster installation.
  • Reduced congestion and site impact: Prefab modular elevators assemblies are built off-site; typically at a subcontractor’s own facility. This reduces the number of contractor employees who need to be present at the construction site, which in turn reduces the demand for site resources. Reduced congestion can also lower the risk of accidents and injuries at the site.
  • Greater efficiency: Rather than working at the construction site, prefabrication crews complete their assemblies in their own facility, in work areas that are specifically designed for the task at hand.
  • Lower costs: Reduced installation time, thus reduced labor costs, is one of the most significant savings associated with prefabrication.
